Number Twenty

Lydia,

It was so good to see you last weekend! The hardest part about moving so far away, no matter how glad I am that we were finally able to move, is not being able to see you and your family more frequently. We always have so much fun together and it’s so sweet to see our kids play together. Seriously, what a dream come true is that?

I’m sorry you’ve been struggling with postpartum depression but am so glad to hear that it seems to (hopefully!) be fading away. It can be so hard to function and care for yourself, much less care for yourself, your family and keep your household running. I wish I was able to help you more. You’re in my prayers.

Your idea for a coffee shop theme is actually really cool. I would go! The coffee would be delicious because it would always be somehow nostalgic and everyone there would always be in good spirits because that seems like the kind of atmosphere where there ends up being a pretty solid community.

Winter has officially come to us here in Michigan. Snow makes everything look so beautiful and magical. It makes me want to go exploring in icy forests and come home to hot coffee and a nice book. I’m also hoping to get out to a nearby ice skating trail sometime soon-ish. I wish you could come? Maybe you can come up for a visit during some future winter.

Speaking of visits, we should plan a trip up to the UP sometime! Spending a couple of days in the woods or a kayak and nights in tents would be so much fun.

-Janie
